HIT guide
The hoist identification tool (HIT) is designed to assist those people in the health and social care sectors who have the responsibility for undertaking or contributing to generic manual handling risk assessments and ensuring that suitable and sufficient equipment is available to meet assessed needs relating to any particular ward, department, unit or facility.
The booklet sets out the basis for this hoist identification tool and gives worked examples of how to use the tool to assist in passive and active overhead hoist needs identification and selection.
